NATURAL MODEL (MY COUSIN ADILAH)

 My cousin Adilah just came home a couple of weeks ago, from surgery, so I went by to check up on her. While I was there, I figured why not do a photo shoot with her, she agreed and with a blend of natural light and a beautiful model. We came up with these photos. ENJOY. -KAR

SOUL TRAIN FLASH MOB IN TIMES SQUARE

The Soooooooooooooooouul Train Line Flash Mob was only supposed to last for 20 minutes. But thanks to New York Finest they allowed the party people to dance for almost 2 hours. Every person of color went down the Soul Train Line in honor of Don Cornelius who committed suicide earlier this week.

   Don has left us all with great memories of Saturday Mornings watching the Soul Train Dancers and seeing all the R&B artist perform on his show. He will be truly missed. -KAR

THEY SHOOTING (TEST SHOOT WEDNESDAYS)

 Every year I challenge myself to do something I've never done before. This year I've challenged myself to shoot more models.

  I will always remember this model asking me, when I knew I wanted to take photography serious. "What did I want to shoot", my answer to her was, "EVERYTHING". She said to me "No it has to be one specific thing, if it's going to be glamour, beauty, portrait, you have to pick what are you going to shoot". I told her I can shoot whatever my eyes can see. A photographers job is to capture moments. With the right angle, perspective, focus, and light, practice, you can shoot whatever you desire. Don't ever let anyone pigeon hold you...

 So I'm starting a shoot called TEST SHOOT WEDNEDAYS. Where every Wednesday I will do a free test shoot, with a model, make-up artist, and stylist. The only way to get better at what your doing, is to do it, and get better at it.

 This photo is from last weeks shoot of M Star. She is a up and coming model. We just made it happen no make-up artist, or stylist. But we had fun and her photos came out great.

  Every year I become more and more focused on my photography, which is great and it's actually the easy part. This year I want to focus on the organization, and the business side. I feel you can have a great skill but that doesn't mean you know how to run a business.

  Organization is at the top of my New Years List, I've started with a bio of myself on my website, and a more organize look on my site.

Another Great Destination Wedding in Jamaica

THE NEXT EVERYDAY WOMAN PHOTO SHOOT 11•27•2011

We had such a great time at the last EWPSHOOT we've decided to do another one, November 27th 2011, Check the flyer for more details. and I  hope to see you there.

It was time for a new look, although I wasn't sure about this flyer, until someone said it's too much love on their you need to switch it up. Thats when I knew it was perfect, why because I shoot love, life, style,  and I capture moments, Maternity, Sweet 16's, Weddings. Capturing all moments thats what it's about. -KAR

MY WAY OF SUPPORTING THE TROOPS

 Yesterday while capturing all the little ones in their customs, a young lady went walking by heading home. I couldn't let her just walk by without capturing a photo of her, it was the least I could do for her fighting for our country.

ANOTHER SUCCESSFUL EVERYDAY WOMAN SHOOT

This past Sundays Everyday Woman Event was a good one. I had to run downtown to B&H midday Sunday morning, to get some last minute supplies, they were closed 10 days for the Jewish Holidays. I was just happy I decided to do my event on the 23rd and not the Sunday before.

Once I got back to the studio, the wine, appetizers, and make up artist were set up and all ready to go. The first two beautiful Everyday Woman came in and the shoot went non-stop from 12pm until 8pm. I even did a baby bump photo, and I even captured some priceless moments of my friend Olivia and her husband.

The vibe was great and so was my team. Thank you Denny Moe's, his 16 year old son who ran my Twitter and Facebook page, and my photo assistant Sole. At the last minute I decided to bring a make up artist so I calked Dana Hall who only made up 2 of the women, but she still stayed around and wants to be part of the team.

The next Everyday Woman will be on November 27th, 2011 so mark yor calendars and I will see you there. -KAR
